Upon your arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), you will be transferred to Gangtok, the vibrant capital of Sikkim (approx. 4-5 hours drive). After checking into your hotel, spend the afternoon exploring the famous MG Marg. This pedestrian-only street is the heart of Gangtok, lined with charming shops, cafes, and bakeries. It’s the perfect place to soak in the local culture and handle some light shopping. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
After a hearty breakfast, head for a full-day excursion to Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake), located at a breath-taking altitude of 12,400 feet. This glacial lake is sacred to the locals and offers stunning reflections of the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Next, visit Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, dedicated to the "Hero of Nathula." If permits are available and weather permits, you can optionally visit the Nathula Pass (Indo-China border) for an additional cost. Return to Gangtok for your overnight stay.
Embark on a scenic journey from Gangtok to Lachung in North Sikkim (approx. 6.5-7 hours). Lachung is a quintessential mountain village nestled at 8,610 feet. En route, pass through the Seven Sisters Waterfalls and Singhik View Point, offering panoramic views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Check into your hotel/resort in Lachung and enjoy the serene evening surrounded by towering mountains and the distant sound of the Lachung River. Overnight stay in Lachung.
Early morning, drive to Yumthang Valley, famously known as the "Valley of Flowers." Situated at 11,800 feet, this valley is a paradise for nature lovers, especially during spring when rhododendrons and alpine flowers bloom in abundance. You can also visit the Hot Spring, known for its medicinal properties. Optionally, visit Zero Point (Yumesamdong) further up the mountains. After exploring the valley, drive back to Gangtok.
